Guest guest
My son has been on the SCD diet since 3-22-07. He is on stage 1 of the diet, but without eggs. I also give him some butternut squash and acorn squash. I have 3 questions. 1) His stools are very very loose and resemble undigested squash. Should I try pureeing the squash to see if this helps with digestion? 2) I gave him some goat yogurt on thursday(I dripped it through a coffee filter until it was a cheese-like consistency) and he was a little stimmy after i gave it to him-but after a couple of hours he had the best day of his life. The following day he was increasingly stimmy and laughing at walls-doing all sorts of behavior I haven't seen since before we eliminated cows milk-it was almost like he was hallucinating! Since he is still having unformed stools, do you think it is too soon for the goat yogurt? He is acting totally different than he normally does and it is really worrying me! Today he did nothing but scream and cry all day long (very irritable, agitated, stimming, weird tic movements, etc.) 3) I began coconut oil last Sunday? How long before I would have seen some sort of die off? I quit giving him his nystatin; instead, I have been giving him the kirman acidophilus twice a day, and S. Boullardii once or twice a day, along with the coconut oil. It seems like he has reactions to everything. He has been eating at least 3 bananas a day, and I am wondering if this could be a problem Here is his diet this past week: Chicken muffins: chicken breast, banana (spotted), butternut squash(cooked) acorn squash, zuchinni, carrots, chicken soup with carrots (not pureed), cooked pears, and the occaisonal extra banana. I tried making him chicken salad, but he screamed and cried for two days after that So I decided to keep him on stage one of the diet until I can weed out what is still causing him problems. His bm's we actually fine, for the most part, even when he was GFCF- they all started back up when I began giving him egg and potatoes again-he regressed at least a year, behavior wise, and his bms turned green, loose, and filled with mucous (sorry for being graphic). I am just very eager for answers. I am tired of playing Sherlock Holmes. Help please.................... Thanks. Mother to : he has autism and severe gastrointestinal problems and food sensitivities and or allergies (we are waiting on our allergy test results)
