Hello all, I am new to the SCD diet. I pondered the website after my

son who is 6 with autism was very sick with a stomach virus , and his

stomach was very bloated to the point I thought he was

obstructed. This has happened a few times, plus he is very constipated

often. I have a lot of concerns here, and wanted some advice about

the usual things that happen when beginning this diet.

One thing I wanted to know is how long do people usually boil the

fruit and veggies? Is there a point where you go to raw skinned fruit

and know it is right? My son still has alot of abdominal distension.I

would love to see him go a week without his belly becoming bloated or

without constipation or what appears to be hyperactivity aggrevated

by certain foods.

I started to give him chicken nuggets fried and fried squash but now

wonder if the oil used is bothering him. I wonder if I am advancing

too fast. It will be a month MOnday of being on SCD, and it is tough

for him at school, where he tries to sneak food, or I feel the staff

may not watch him close enough. Does anyone have any tips to offer

me about this. I am still waitin on the Acidophilus to arrive, I feel

that would help alot too, but it is on back order. I tried goat

yogurt but maybe it was too soon? He loves green veggies, chicken and

fruit of all sorts. I just really need some support and help!
