Guest guest
Checking in on my two week anniversary. I am 2 weeks post-op today. I feel GREAT. In fact, I played my first softball game since the surgery and I ran all the way around two times...this is amazing. I was active before the surgery, so it felt great to get back to normal. I can't wait until I can run faster than ALL the skinny people =). I am still mainly on liquids and soft foods, although I tried a few things in the past couple of days. I tried baked fish last night (about 2 0z) and applesauce they both settled fine. With the crackers, I put a little cheese and it went down fine too. I am still nervous to try much. On Tuesday I put my scales AWAY!! I stayed the same for 4 days and I am not putting myself through misery by looking at them everyday. With the small amounts I am eating there is no way I will not lose this weight....IT WILL COME OFF!!!! I will weigh with my PCP in about 3 weeks. When I weighed at clinic I was already down 21 Lbs...so I won't complain. So my husband, daughter and myself are preparing to go to Disney World in 12 days...I am SOOOO excited. Maybe all the walking I will be doing will drop those pounds faster..LOL. So anyway let me ask the group a question. Is it ok to take my vitamins(x3) and also B-12(1000 mcg) and potassium(99mg)supplements? B-12 I used prior to surgery for energy. Potassium helps my dry skin and acne problems (that's what doc said). I will keep you guys posted on how I am feeling and my weight loss!! Lassiter MGB 9/28 BMI 43 243lbs Down 21 lbs (+)? Guest guest
Hi , Ya know, I figured after just meeting you and then watching you walk the " hallowed halls " that you would be doing softball stuff so soon. I sure envy you. But I am doing ok. About ready to try some soft food. Somehow soup broth and juice has lost its magic. Tomorrow is 2 weeks for me (1st surgery). No telling what I'll eat while hubby is at work. Since that leak scared him TO DEATH, he thinks if I take a mouthful of anythink solid, I will pull all apart. So when he leaves, in the kitchen I'll go. I am feeling really good. No energy yet. A lot of swelling so that I still can't wear many clothes, but the weight seems to be dropping. If I hold my leg up, my calf seems to be like an empty bag. UGH! What a visual picture. I really wish I had had more time with you. I think I would have enjoyed it. Guest guest
Does anyone know why Mike & Pat were having so much trouble with bleeding? Curious?? Christy California Pre-Op (Nov. 8th)
Guest guest
-Hi Betty , It is so good to hear you are doing good. I have been worried and wondering about you. You looked so rough when I came by your room on the Sat after surgery and then I found out at clinic on Tues that you had to have more surgery, it really scared me. I am glad to hear all is well now. Have you heard from any of the other littermates? I saw and Pat at clinic, looked great and poor Pat was still having a hard time with some bleeding. Have you heard anything about Mike, I know he was having a hard time too? I don't remember the young girl from Savannah, Ga name and Donna any word? I am doing great. I am down 27 pounds and feel wonderful. I am back at work full time and tolerating everything I have tried thus far. I am sick of Juices and Gatorade, but water doesn't set well yet. I would kill for a HUGE glass of sweet tea. I have not had BP meds or hormones since day before surgery and all is normal even blood sugar is down to 70. I have not had any problems with edema, no more headaches, it is so wonderful to feel this good after all these years. Please stay in touch and let me know how you are progressing.
