Guest guest
I'm sorry that the ortho did not speak directly to you regarding ending your son's treatment. However, if you have not been back in a month, perhaps he thought that you stopped treatment without telling him. I sympathize with the difficulty that your little one has with the horrible skin blisters and boils. But, I do believe that all of the helmet providers had the same protocols in place. All of the babies are supposed to wear the band 23 hours a day and go in for regular adjustments (this is very important). If it is not possible for the baby to follow this protocol then the adults involved have to figure out something that will work. It sounds like a breakdown in communication to me. I'm not really sure what to tell you at this point other than to ask for a refund if you paid any money out of pocket. If continuing helmet treatment is important to you, you should seek out another provider. Good Luck! ____________________________________________________________ Love Graphic Design? Guest guest
In regards to the time frame... our son only gets seen once a month for his Starband. After the initial fitting, our appt. was 2 weeks out but then it went to monthly visits. (he's been in the band for 3 months) I agree, to discontinue tx via email is very odd and unprofessional. I would def. contact them via phone to see what is going on. Good luck! --Carey > > I'm sorry that the ortho did not speak directly to you regarding ending your son's treatment. Guest guest
WOW! That is INSANE! Did you call the ortho and ask them about the email - why didn't they call you - and how they got the email? I would be requesting your $ back and going somewhere else. That is just crazy!!! Jen and Luli - 3 years old Left tort - Right Plagio - Hanger Band Grad - CA http://www.babiesonline.com/babies/j/jens5th/ Are you serious? My son has went about a month without an adjustment and actually things were going pretty good. I mean I didnt leave the helmet on 23 hours a day because of the blisters and boils he would get if I left it on too long. But I figured some wear would be better than none at all. Well today i get an email from Hanger. On and email I dont even use, and I've never given them (so of course they check these boards) telling me that they discussed the issue with my sons ped and they decided to discontinue the use of the helmet. IM the mother. Excuse ME??? That needs to be discussed with ME first. Not just leave me an email telling ME what they are going to do about MY son! What the heck??? I mean, if they had been in contact with me they would know my son hasnt had any blisters/boils in about a month! My son to me, hasnt gotten that much of correction yet, but I was holding out hope because there have been so many other success stories. If you were me what would you do at this point? I think the ortho is upset at my posting here. BUT I have only shared whats going on with my son which has been true.
