Hello Everyone.

Is there anyone post op, right there in Durham (or near Durham), who

wouldn't mind meeting my mom and me? My date to dance is 10/25, and

I can't think of anything better than a stable 6 month+ post op

person to be with my mother the day of my surgery. I don't want

her " stir crazy " for that hour while I'm " dancing " with Dr. R.

She is supportive of my decision, but I'm her ONLY child (and my dad

passed away in 1990) and I just want her to have support while she's

there giving me support. She doesn't know I'm planning to have a

support team for her, we have NO FAMILY in Durham. And I have

visions of her weeping in the waiting room until I'm out of the

woods. I want her engaged in some of this GREAT conversation wit you

guys. This would not only give her encouragement for that hour, but

it would divert her mind from any negative thoughts. I can't think

of a more perfect company than all of you (my WLS family).

I firmly believe that I will come through this PERFECTLY fine. I

don't have false expectations, but I'm a great candidate for this

surgery and the facts say that there's a very small chance that

anything will happen, but if it did, my mom would need some support.

So if any post op (regardless of how long you've been post op really)

would be there for my mom on the 25th (the day of my surgery) I'd

truly appreciate it.

You can write me back directly to: fbesn@...

I don't know my surgery time yet. It will be at the hospital, not at

the Center. Once I get your contact information, I will call

you and let you know the surgery time on 10/24. I think they give

you the " line-up " time the day before. Some of you post ops can

confirm this for me.

Thanks - All of you have been GREAT. Your posts are just want I need.
