Guest guest
Hello Carol, No holy cow, please! I'm just kidding! The digestive issues from CF is almost unknow by general population, neither doctor are warned about that. The mainly problem is in the lungs right? Perhaps... Specialy in adults, pancreatic troubles are very common, like pancreatitis, diabetes and insuficiency needing oral enzymes. I have dx of chronic pancreatitis induced by CF. In the disease the organs that produces secretion are affected, causing blockage. Sadly sometimes the pancreas have your ducts blocked. So pancreatitis sometimes is part of CF disease. Feel free to ask for more, may be I can help you a little bit. I'm part of a CF list and it's been great to learm more about both CP and CF All the best, Liane -------Original Message------- <It would be probably be a good idea to team up with the cystic fibrosis folks since the diseases are closely related.> Huh? How? And.. holy cow. Carol ---------- No virus found in this outgoing message. Checked by AVG Anti-Virus. Guest guest
Hi, Liza! I'm 39 but my dx of CF was done when I was 31. I suffered close to a year with abdominal pain, diarrhea and lost of weight. Finally I saw my old homeopathic doctor that in the past treat me from lung issues when I was in my 20's. So she think about CF and ordered a sweat test that came back positive. Soon after, a gastro asked for amylase blood test that came twice higher than normal range, so my dx was done. I done more 4 sweat test and no one came back negative. My amylase is always out of range but only 20 points. As I live in Brazil, this disease is almost unknown and I have do deal with doctors that only think CF is a child illness. Please, feel free to e-mail me in private if you like. All the best, Liane -------Original Message------- Dear Liane, I have Cystic Fibrosis too, I am 36 year old female who has been suffering the last 3 years with Pancreatitis.
