That's great that the band saved his head. Sebastian always hits his head

because he is just crawling and standing. He's going to have a rude awakening

when it comes off! The band can definitely come in handy though.

I'm sure everyone one on here knows how you feel about the stares. I stare back

at people when they do that. I think I've become more sensitive to it as time

has gone by. I don't know why. If someone makes a joke about the helmet to try

to get me to to tell them about it I won't volunteer info. If they ask me

directly what it is for I'm glad to tell them. One time when I was in a bad mood

someone asked about it and I told them it was because we drop him all the time.

They didn't even question it!!!

Anyway, glad you had a nice vacation and the band protected your baby during

that fall. I hope you are feeling better.

Jen,  I have to say that I think that is hilarious that you told someone it was because you drop your child.  I have to use that one!  Miriam,  I am so glad your son was wearing the band when you fell.  He could have had a significant head injury.  I worked with Traumatic Brain Injuries (TBI) for years and know how serious it is and the horrible effects.  You are so lucky!Have a great weekend.  From: Wells <jenniferwells@...>Subject: Re: band saved my sonPlagiocephaly Date: Friday, September 11, 2009, 8:24 AM

Hi Miriam, I'm sorry that you fell and hurt yourself, but I'm so glad that your

son had his band on.

My son is starting to crawl and walk and keeps bumping his head everywhere (I

really have to start putting pillows around him:) I'm also happy that he has

his band. During the hour that we took it off today, he was practicing pulling

up to stand and fell backward and hit his head. He started crying and I picked

him up and was consoling him when he started reaching to my side where his

helmet was, picked it up and tried to put it on. I think he knows his little

noggin' is safer with it on!

Hope you are feeling better.
