Guest guest
It never hurts to take probiotics. I take them daily, and am not doing SCD...as do my other children. SCD can help with many different neutological disorders and disfunctions. I think it would be a good idea to try. Meleah ADHD and SCD Our 20 month old is on day 16 and is really showing improvements, even a bit developmentally. We started probiotics and cod liver oil. I'm convinced this diet is worth it. My other daughter was " diagnosed " with ADHD, (I personally believe it's bipolar...), but was wondering if anyone has had success with behavioral changes in children diagnosed as ADHD. And can probiotics be started even on a non-SCD diet? (or half?) I'm not sure I want to go full force into this with her just yet, she's older and it will be more difficult. Any advise would be helpful. Thank you! Cheryl Mother of Alysson (almost 5-ADHD), Dorthia (20 months-Failure to thrive--SCD 16 days)
Guest guest
ADHD and dyslexia is why we are here doing SCD. I've come across several resources in my research this fall that mentions SCD for ADHD - as well as several other neurological disorders. Our son is 12 and there are some really bumpy days. We cleared the house of illegals completely so mom and dad are doing SCD too. From reading the books and some gluten testing we need to heal our guts too. It makes the melt downs easier to deal with as there truly are no other food choices available. What is he going to hold out for? Though if you think it would be challenging and stressful you could wait until the younger one is firmly established and you are more used to cooking this way. I know I'm still getting my self-confidence up. But on the other hand it might be easier to just do both at the same time? W.
Guest guest
My son is on the diet for what I call " brain fog. When he did not eat SCD he was very, very spacey. His teacher noticed a huge improvement when we put him on the diet, as did we. It definitely works. After being on the diet for about 8 months we also did vision therapy which has helped him immensely. He is a different boy. I am certain that the vision therapy would not have worked if he wasn't on this diet. The key to him neurologically has been SCD.
