Guest guest
Hi everyone. Hope all is well and good. I just wanted to say THANK YOU to everyone who has sent cards, ecards, gifts, and prayers for . It really makes her feel better. This is very special to us and we will never forget you. Since the surgery, has done pretty good. She is still sore some, but that is to be expected. She is walking around (when we are not tied to that iv pole - and even sometimes when we are), trying to get some of the soreness out. Her appetite has returned in full force, and they are supposed to start the insulin today for the CFRD, but we haven't seen that doctor yet. They are having joint commission evaluation this week here and things are definately not as usual. Some things are better, but... Anyway, they did watch her blood sugars over the weekend. They ranged from 41-178 when they did the finger sticks 2 hours after meals. They did do that test that tells what the blood sugar has done over the past 3 months and was 5.8. They said usually that would be okay, but since she has cf and trouble gaining weight, they would go on and start insulin, but giving a small amount in a form that is long lasting. I really don't know that much about it, but I am learning. Other than that, everything else is getting to be routine, as normal. The surgery is over, and she is doing pretty good. Thanks everyone for everything you do. It really means a lot. Please continue to pray for her. Thank you.... Sue Pettit
