Guest guest
The secreten and cck that are used for mrcp's are not ivp contrast; they are actually hormones that are used to stimulate the pancreas, gallbladder and the ducts that joint the two to the intestines. They are the same type of hormones our body already makes. If you had an allergic reaction to the contrast dye, its very important that your physicians and clinicians know that. But it does not mean that you will react to the secreten or cck. I dont remember what cck stands for but I think it is cholecystokinin; or something like that. Its the hormone that the bowell secrets that stimulates the gallbladder to contract and the pancreas to secret enzymes. All this secretion starts when you chew; so the secretin and the cck are just copy cats of what your body already makes. Dont cancel the mrcp it is a very important diagnostic tool; just make sure they know that you cant have ivp dye or any other contrast dye. Let me know how it goes.
