Guest guest
Jen, Do you mean regular birthday cake? With sugar and flour? Or was this a legal SCD recipe cake? After two days of intro, you can begin to bring in the first stage veggies and fruits.... start ONE new food at a time, and leave several days in between starting another, so you can judge how well they are being tolerated. For really super sensitive kids, it may be best to introduce just a few bites of a new food, and leaving 24 hours at LEAST to observe symptoms. If he got regular sugar and flour, the " bad guys " in his gut will no doubt be all the hardier now after getting that delicious treat. Don't forget to experiment with the SCD legal recipes for cakes and cookies, so you'll be ready with something that's at least legal. I know it's hard to be patient.... but try to stick with plain and simple foods.... and introduce new things very cautiously. Think to several months down the road for some of the more complex foods. Patti Need to start diet from scratch....need advice I am starting the diet from scratch in the next 2 days. I would like some advice on how to know when to introduce the next foods. My son started this diet the 2nd week of January and did very well on it. I then let him have some birthday cake, shrimp and cookies in Feb. b/c he was doing so well and I have regretted it since. I now think I need to go back to the beginning b/c his behaviors are so bad and he is head butting everything. He is putting holes into the walls and doors. i think it is a sign of an infraction. I will start over and be very very strict this time as I can not afford to screw it up....he has paid the price. If I do not get him feeling better, I may never forgive myself for giving him those foods. It was the worse thing ever. So any advice and words of support would be great. I am anxious to do this!!!
