Guest guest
I suppose that perhaps (take this as my own interperetation of someones interperetation of someones guessing of....) If I remember correctly cacao is quite alkaline thats why it usually requires so much milk and sweetening and cocoabutter for most people anyway. Also, I know that so many varieties of beans end up causing problems and when we can eat them, it is always after careful preparation. I'm suspecting that any one of these factors, in addition to the fact that it is a stimulant may cause our GI to straighten up and create a mucous barrier thereby making it harder for necessary nutrients to be absorbed (and causing " D " ) could be the reason that cacao is on the illegal list. Except for cocoa mixes that contain all sorts of sugars etc, I don't think pure cacao would encourage yeast growth, just a rejective reaction in the intestines. (My guess.....for what its worth.) Healthy Holidays to you all! -Allan.
