Guest guest
My boys will be turning three years old next month. I have debated over whether to have a regular birthday party for them or just one with a few family members. I feel we need to start incorporating them with other children without compromising their diet. We do have a few friends who know what is going on with our boys that also have small children. And I was thinking since my boys kind of like Elmo (have actually said his name one time. They are for the most part non verbal with a few " pop up " words here and there) that it would be neat to have a whole Elmo theme and was wondering if it was at all possible to make a totally legal BDay Cake with Elmo. My boys are hypo sensitive. So they are actually sensory seeking and do not mind being in a crowd or experiencing some noise. So, this kind of party would not stress them out. We just did not do a party (except with grandparents) last year because we still did not know what was going on or how to explain that our boys would not try to interact with the other children or show any interest in opening their gifts. But I think they really do need to have a party this year. Any B-Day Party advice would be welcome. Guest guest
Hi Dana I think you could do a fantastic Elmo themed party, without having to actually bake a cake in the shape/color of Elmo himself. I imagine it would be possible to make a legal cake in that shape.... but you'd have to figure out a way to dye it RED.... and since red #40 is one of those food colorings that they say is really bad for kids with brain issues, I think you might want to think about some other options. You might be able to find Elmo cake decor that is plastic.... like the little spike thingies they stick into cakes and cupcakes at bakeries. Or, maybe Elmo figurines to stand on top of the cake. You can buy Elmo EVERYTHING..... plates, napkins, banners, goodie bags, etc. I should know.... that's Katera's favorite character and we did an Elmo party for her last b-day. We had Elmo mylar balloons.... Elmo music CD playing.... Elmo videos.... she wore an Elmo shirt. You name it, Elmo was on it. The cake was plain, and simple.... but it didn't matter, because everything else was dazzling. Just be sure the candles are red! Patti Is it possible to make an SCD legal " Elmo " birthday cake for 3 year old BDay party? My boys will be turning three years old next month.
