There are illegals in this - soy protein, natural flavors , the organic spices are not individually specified and it is packaged in a box like a tetra pak. : Manufacturer's Description: Nothing is as soothing as a steaming bowl of Imagine Natural Organic Broth. We take the same care in making our gourmet broths as you would in your kitchen. We choose the finest, organic vegetables and lightly simmer them with fresh herbs and delicious seasonings. Then we purée and package our broth using a quick-cook process. Compare Imagine Natural Organic Broths with other broths and taste the difference. Pure and simple, the only way you can make broth this good is from scratch. Ingredients: Organic chicken broth (filtered water, organic free range chicken), organic celery, organic onions, organic carrots, Non-GMO soy protein based natural flavor, organic spices, sea salt. There are other recipes in the new cookbook calling for apple juice..be sure to use home made. There is also a recipe using an eighteen year old balsamic vinegar. Some balsamics may be legal while some have undisclosed sugar. Elaine said not to take chances with it. I just add a drop of honey to a good red wine vinegar to get the balsamic effect. I am trying to contact Kendall Conrad through her publisher to call these details to her attention. Carol F.

It also appears the company may have been taken over. Whatever the case, if I am confused, others may be too and it would be a shame to think it OK to use the wrong soup. I emailed either Kendall or her publicist for further clarification. I would rather be too careful as small mistakes can cause regresion etc. I apologized in advance to Kendall if, as reported by a third party, Elaine approved the product. You can't fault me for wondering about a product from the same company containing soy protein based natural flavor. Also the veggie version has non GMO canola oil. Elaine did not like any canola oil. Personally, I'd rather be making a big pot of SCD chicken soup and keeping it on hand. It is not time consuming to throw the ingredients in a kettle and let it simmer for a few hours. Elaine excluded balsamic vinegar but admitted there are legal ones out there. I believe Kendall probably uses an eighteen year aged balsamic vinegar that is legal and I requested details so we would know the brand. Spending so much time on questioning store bought products is really not my idea of being productive as I needed the time for a more important SCD task at this time. Carol F. Guest guest
I just want to remind folks to not use any ready made products unless the company is making it specifically for SCD. This book recommends a certain soup that is made by a company that was started by a health food enthusiast. That company was later bought by a huge food company. The food companies are being bought by the tabacco companies. The big companies love to add all sorts of food enhancers to make us love their food. Please read Russel Baylock's book before eating those foods. http://www.amazon.com/Excitotoxins-Taste--L-Blaylock/dp/0929173252/sr=8-2\ /qid=1168623308/ref=pd_bbs_sr_2/102-0138877-1160149?ie=UTF8 & s=books Ready made food's ingredients may change without notification. mimi > > > > > Anybody tried this cookbook? Guest guest
Yes, I just bought it last week. and Knoble carries it, but they were out of stock... or hadn't received their stock yet. So I ended up finding it at lucyskitchenshop.com. I have tried a few recipes from it, and so far have liked them all. It has a wonderful recipe for cashew bread. So far it is the best SCD compliant bread that I have tried (but I haven't sampled all that many yet). Hope this helps. Christy > > Anybody tried this cookbook? Guest guest
That's actually illegal without permission from the author.
