Cyst on the pancreas

Hi Group,

I had an MRI last Tuesday the 24th of August. The Nurse

informed me that I had a cyst that probably is filled with water and

should go away by itself. I have been in pain since. I have stayed

on a liquid diet and been relying on Vicodin for pain. Unlike most

people Vicodin keeps me awake. From what I've read on line a cyst is

caused by an attack and 90% of the time they clear them selves up in

4 to 6 weeks. How do they know how long I had the cyst? Could it be

cancer? The nurse said the MRI could not tell the difference. I am

41 and 5'9 " tall and used to weigh 155 a month ago, and now I am down

to 135. Are there liquid foods that have high protein without a lot

of fat?

I have an appointment to see my GI Dr. on the 13th if the pain has

not stopped. He said if I keep on working and dealing with the

pain. It (the pain) has become sort of second nature and I just deal

with it. The Dr. told me if the pain gets so bad, where I cannot

function, that I should check myself into the hospital and keep

getting IV's and pain medicine until the pain goes away and that

means the cyst has cleared up. Am I getting good advice? I do trust

my Dr. but you know, I wonder. He is the best in the St. Louis area

that I know of after lots of research.

Has anyone else had to deal with this problem? Should I be

worried? I am an optimist and do not dwell on the negatives. Any

information would be appreciated.
