Guest guest
I am new to this but I was concerned about the same thing. I talked to the lady at Durham Regional and if you a re pre-certified you shoudl not have to put up the $11.000 dollars. Hope this is of some help and relief. Guest guest
The $11,000 payment to the hospital is for self-pay patients only. This is their estimate of their bill, and if your bill comes out less than $11,000 they will send you a refund check. Now, the patients who are covered by insurance have to pay a deposit to Dr. R in the amount of $1255 ($1,000 for him and $255 for clinic). Once your insurance pays Dr. R, and they have not " jipped " him of his money, he will refund you your money. However, if they short him lets say $500, your refund will be $500 less. Hopefully everyone understands that..........LOL Christy California Pre-Op MGB 11/8/
