I'm not familiar with that one. That's not one that's listed on the legal

cheeses list. You need to find out if it's an aged cheese or a fresh cheese. It

needs to have been aged 60 days or more, I think.

From the village of Jumilla in the Murcia region of Spain, Drunken Goat is a

semi-soft

artisan goat cheese with a smooth violet rind which has been soaked in Doble

Pasta wine

for 48-72 hrs. Aged about 75 days, it has a sweet, smooth flavor. This is a very

difficult

cheese to find.

doble pasta

[DOH-blay PAHSS-tah] Spanish for " double paste, " referring to red wine that is

made by

fermenting a second batch of must over the lees of a prior batch. This

essentially doubles

the dead yeast cells, grape skin, and pulp particles that are in contact with

the new must,

which results in a much heavier wine. Doble pasta wines are often used as

blending wines

to boost lighter-weight reds.

You need to find out if the wine it is soaked in contains sugar.

Hi Silvia,

I think this is a " fresh " wine cured cheese, that has no bacterial

culture added.

Cheese needs to have " had a bacterial culture involved with its

production and is aged at least 30 days. " (from

http://www.breakingtheviciouscycle.info/ " Cheese " on the "

Legal/Illegal list " )

So, this cheese would be illegal.
