Our son is on the SCD, about 5 weeks now. He's incredibly thirsty. Wondering if

anyone else has experienced that on this diet or if it's some other issue for

him?

Thanks

Dorothy,

I replied to your off list email yesterday, but it sounds like you didn't get

it. I'm resending it right now. If you don't get it again, let me know.

My son seems the same way. He is about 2 months in. He has been that way since

about week 2 or 3. best I can tell my son is doing it to fill himself up. He

doesn't want to venture out and try much new food and so his food choices are

limited. If he isn't hungry for what is offered he will typically ask for

something to drink. Someone else here was having thrist issues too. Maybe it's

something more than i am attributing it too. Maybe it has to do with helping

cleanse the body as it detoxifies. If anyone else knows please tell me.

My dd goes in spurts. When I see her peeing alot, I look at the urine to make

sure it is clear & not cloudy or stinky and just keep encouraging them to keep

drinking. Sometimes these kids know what they need. With K, she will start

drinking more days before she actually gets sick. With die-off you will see

stronger urine. The yeast metabolites & such are coming out in the urine. I you

think they may have an infx. you should get them to the Dr. though. Sometimes,

cranberry extract can help with this problem as well. I've had problems with my

kidneys since I was 14 and cranberry is a big help every now & then. Maybe I

need some now. Thanks for posting about this. Good luck! Jenn L

This is the end of week two for us and my son is VERY THIRSTY and

drinking all the time too!!!! I dilute the juice with lots of water. I

don't know if it's normal and don't know if he should be having so

much to drink but what can I do? I have taken everything else away

from the poor guy as it is that he survived on (rice milk, fries,

potatoe chips, etc.)

Is there a legal cranberry juice besides the Just Juices line, or would I just

have to juice them myself?
