Guest guest
Hi ; I had wondered how things were going for you and hoped that you were so well and happy that you were living the good life. I am so sorry to learn otherwise. I am kinda curious why Lehman did not stent those ducts he cut, I had always thought that was the protocol so the ducts would not sclerosed (sp?) again. I guess I am just too used to my guys and they too are right up there at the top of thier field and each have their own methodology. I would certainly take anything Lehman had to say as fact and if I didn't have Hawes and Cotton in my endosocopic corner that is exactly who I would see. Well I cant be scoped any more anyway. What are you eating? I have always had a rough time after an ercp and lately even an mrcp has me reeling and found that making myself npo then advancing to clears and fulls helps tremendously. These days I rarely have anything greater then fulls. I had an octreotide inj and it helped a lot but I think it has worn off and I am not doing so hot. I wish I could get another befor eI go back to Cinci next week but its too soon, I think. Has anybody mentioned that inj to you. Its a protien that shuts down the panc. I was on it for a very long time and stopped it last July, and my doc talked me into another one recently. I didn;t realize just how much it helped until this last one wore off. Weeelllll doggeeee I am one hurting gal. I see my doc here again on the 19th I'm definelty going to ask for another inj. Its very pricey and has to be cleared through the ins co. before it can even be brought up from the pharmacy. But worth every cent. I would still have pain if I misbehaved (ie chocolate), but very mild by comparison. Ask your new gi doc about it, cant hurt, right. Well I am really sorry that your stillhaving so much trouble, I had hoped you were better. Try to do the best you can, I know how hard it is. Just dont loose faith. Warmly, Chrissy
Guest guest
, Hi, it's good to see you're still lurking in the shadows. I'm sorry that your pain hasn't gotten any better yet. I say yet, because I too have been in the same boat. Ever since my last ERCP w/ sphincterotomy, the pain has been with me each and every day. Even though I take 100-200 mg of demerol per day, I still get some break through pain, but all in all, I can function pretty well most days. Maybe you could try switching to another pain med to see if it would work better. Anyway, please let me know how you are doing. I am very interested in your recovery, since I too suffer from SOD. Take care Kris in TN
