Guest guest
Hi Heidi, Thank you for giving me your thoughts concerning Dr Lehman in Indy. You brought up some good points that I wasn't clear on before: the fact that he would be willing to see me to establish a treatment history...that that is considered reason enough to see a physician. In my experience with MDs, they do not want to be bothered unless you are an emergency...and if you bother them for anything less than that, you get an attitude and brush-off. It is only my pain doc that is comfortable treating me as an on-going patient that needs monitoring. I guess I have become habituated to this attitude. Maybe it is just a regional approach to medicine, and by going out of state I may be exposed to more compassionate care and ongoing treatment aimed at preventing things from becoming acute or even urgent. And as far as the pseudocyst....there are days that I am convinced that it is there and then days that I figure I am over-obsessing about something that none of my previous doctors think is relevant but again, you have a good point of having peace of mind regarding it. I guess I just need confirmation that there is validity in needing or wanting to have someone that knows what he is doing give me an opinion about my recent medical history, someone who is not afraid to rock the boat and tell me like it is. All my doctors here tippy-toe around things because they are afraid I am going to sue my surgeons for all the blunders that they did to cause me to have this chronic problem. Which was the farthest thing from my mind....all I wanted was for them to make me feel better, to fix or treat what happened during that surgery....but that is not how modern medicine works, they are more concerned that the patient not sue. How many times have I been told as a medical professional to not say anything to a patient because " what he doesn't know won't hurt him and can't change what happened anyways.
