Hanger Band vs. Cranial Technologies

Our son is 6 months and will need to start wearing a helmet. We have 2 options

that are fairly close by for treatment. My wife and I were wondering if anyone

has experience with either Hanger or Cranial Technologies. Thanks.

I am wondering the same thing. Our daughter is 5 months old and the nearest

Cranial Tech is 3 1/2 hours away (one way)- please let me know if you hear about

the hanger band's effectiveness vs. CT.

If you scroll through past messages you will find a lot of comments on this

topic. The consensus seems to be that CT provides pretty consistent results,

same with Hanger depending on the experience of your technician. You will

probably get more feedback if you post your specific location.

I'm not sure about anyone else, but we (Southwest Missouri) get referred to Hanger. My daughter's OT said Hanger was the best and the most experienced around here. We do have another brand, but it isn't as popular as the hanger here. I live in an area (Northern Virginia) where the Hanger band is not as popular.

But, we chose Hanger and have been VERY happy with the band and the orthotist

who is helping us. Our dd has been in her Hanger band for 5 weeks and her skull

is shaping up nicely. The sense I'm getting from multiple parents' posts on

this group is you need to make sure your orthotist knows what s/he is doing.

Ours does & we are happy!
