Guest guest
Hi Everyone ! Today Rebekah was seen by the cf dr here.I have to say I am not impressed at all.He told me they do bronch's and routine IV's .I don't agree with that as we all know that using antibotics like that can and does lead to resistant bacteria.I heard him in the hall asking what is the protocol for b.cepacia(duh) I had just explained that I have worked very hard the last 3 years keeping her out of the hospital using oral antibotics. He was not impressed. I have a feeling we are speaking a foriegn language to each other. It is not a great feeling to know the doctor knows less about her cepacia than I do(this did make me feel intelligent but imagine how I feel about his lack of education) I guess I get to teach another doctor his business! I don't agree with doing a bronch unless it is necessary( treatment isn't working, fever, etc.) I know Rebekah has psuedo and cepacia I can't remember anything else.I feel she is doing great . I am after all the one person who has taken care of her since before she was born I do feel qualified to judge if she is sick or not.I also feel qualified to say NO to what I feel is invasive and unnecessary. This disease has been in my life thru my kids for over 20 years and it has become MY speciality and I am concerned enough to pick the brains of the best doctors, scientists, and researchers for the most up to date information.Perhaps the other doctor is more up on things.I think I vented enough .BeckyB.-Mama to 8 -2w/cf---and Nana to 2. Rebekah will be 7 on March 11th WOW time is flying by.
