Bowel Habits

I know, not the most pleasant topic. But, I'm sitting here, wondering if my

experience is normal or if it isn't. And I realize I don't know, because we

rarely discuss this. And right now, I need to know. For post-ops, please

tell me if your bowel habits are normal (meaning a poop every day or 2 that

is formed, comfortable, and not a cramping, rush-to-the-john event.) And

when did this normal stuff begin?

I am 2 weeks post-op today. I wake up and must sit on the throne soon after;

I take my citrucel and must go again; and I eat something and must go again.

And there could be more. 5-6 times is not unusual before my belly stops

cramping and I can leave my house. Then I'm OK the rest of the day, but will

sit on the throne again after my pm Citrucel, once or twice. Most of these

efforts produce softly formed, or less so, bright yellow floaters! And while

we're at it, can we talk about the odor????

And the gas????? I alone could produce enough natural gas to heat at least

my block of row houses if we could just tap and bottle this stuff. Sheesh!

It's a good thing there is no man in my life right now. If there was, he'd

probably have left by now! My son just shakes his head and says WOW, Mom.

P-U.

So, let's really have a discussion here. Am I the only one having these

'probelms'?

Without going into detail. You are totally normal. For a while I thought I

couldn't be farther then 50 yards from a bathroom, but it gets better. In

time everything gets better. I promise!

Best,

Joanne
