Guest guest
I wonder if you have tried cranberry? I used to be very prone to bladder infections and had them chronically as a child. I remember not going to the bathroom for at all for 3 days once because I was so scared of it hurting and becoming extremely ill. Anyway, I am not nearly so prone now, but if I do feel one coming, I take 5 to 6 cranberry capsules (with nothing except cranberry in them) and it is gone usually by the next time I go. A bad infection will take several doses. They also sell a liquid cranberry that is just straight cranberry with nothing else in it, (maybe by Knudsens?). I don't know if cranberry is even SCD legal, but that treatment has worked very well even on some difficult infections for me so I thought I'd put the idea out there. I also find that increasing my water intake is helpful.
Guest guest
I agree with wht advised. She should definitely increase her water intake. You can give her the Knudsen's Just Cranberry juice. You could also buy frozen cranberries, and juice them yourself. I've also seen cranberry extract in capsule or liquid form that you could use if there are no illegals in it. I know Kirkman sells cranberry extract stuff, but I don't know if it is legal. You could also check your closest health food store. Cranberriesd are SCD legal. Guest guest
Knudsen's " Just Cranberry " juice is legal...... which would certainly help with bladder infection issues. It's very, VERY tart, though..... so you'd need to sweeten with honey or something. If you can get a pure cranberry extract tablet or capsule supplement.... with zero illegals.... that would work well if she can swallow tablets. I honestly think cranberry only works really well if you catch an infection early. If it's already " chronic " , then you may have to use a medications...... and then use cranberry on a regular basis to keep it from recurring. For low iron, I know B vitamins are important..... and also the gut flora are responsible for that whole balance of being able to absorb iron properly. You are using probiotics? And yogurt? Adding a small amount of organic chicken liver pate to her diet every few days might be the best food-based way to bring in high-iron food. Patti low iron and chronic bladder infection We just had blood work done with my daughter and found out that her iron is low. We also found out that she has a chronic bladder infection. Any ideas what we can do ? I had noticed before that is holding on to her urine , and it seems to hurt when she finally goes. We have been on the diet since Jan. 06 We have just restarted her with her vitamins and minerals and are just at magnesium and now enzymes. I take it very slow, because she had been constipated and brought up more than normal . So far so good. Her seizures have come down to 1 or 2 a night and maybe one a day. We have soaked beans and lentils in our diet, as well as raw fruit. Thanks for your help Beate (Mom to 15, on SCD Jan. 06, severe reaction to vaccination)
Guest guest
Have you tried juicing? Because of Stan's video of Ethan and his daily juices, we have started juicing too. Apple juice with fresh, raw spinach and carrot is delicious and would provide an absorbable form of vit. A and iron.
