Cigna Healthcare.....the jokes on me!!

Hey, everyone. I haven't been on for about a month because I've been

spending all my free time dealing with cigna insurance. What a

joke!! So far I have sent them 3 packets of information from my PCP

and Dr. R. because they kept asking for more info. Then Sat. I got a

letter saying my insurance was not going to pay for mine and my

husbands clinic visit to Dr. R. Before I went I called to make sure

it would be covered and they said yes. Now they are saying even

though he is an approved Dr. in my plan they won't cover the visit

because it was for obesity! Even though they approved the visit for

obesity before I went! They also said I have to have a underlying

problem due to obesity such as hypertension or Shortness of breath or

heart palpatations (which I have and they have that information).

But now they are saying they have to review my records - they have

only had all the records since sept 25! But here is the

KICKER....when I asked them exactly what underlying condition I would

have to have to be approved, they told me they couldn't give me that

information. I asked if they had a list they go by or what is their

criteria for approving the surgery and the supervisor's supervisor

couldn't answer the question. They said they have a nurse review the

records, but would not let me talk to her. And the nurse told the

supervisor's supervisor that she doesn't have a criteria for

approval!!!! Is this a bad joke!!! It seems like they make up new

rules as they go along!! I've gotten in touch with the NC Insurance

Commission who told me since Cigna is a 3rd party plan with my

husbands employer I would have to contact the NC Pension and Welfare

office which I have with no responce. Nor have I gotten a responce

the benefit dept of my husbands employer. Its like no one knows what

the heck is going on!!!I can't get a direct answer from anyone.

If anyone has any suggestions PLEASE help!!!!!
