Guest guest
Traci,Tort can most certainly prevent your baby from being able to roll over. This is something your son's PT should be working on. My daughter had tort and could only roll on one side because of it. Her PT worked on it and had her rolling both ways in no time. She also did not crawl until almost 10 months(just before her band was removed.) She was walking by her first birthday. Some say that bands do cause some delays, but who's to say it's the band or the tort? If there is some merit to bands causing delays, it's really not a big deal because they catch up very quickly. At least that was our experience.Ask your son's PT to help work on getting him in the sitting position and rolling over. The younger a baby is when banding ends, the greater chance of regression. This is especially true when you're talking about a case of unresolved tort. Sounds like this may be the case when it comes to your son. His tort should have been resolved while in the band. It's no surprise there 's regression if his tort is unresolved.Good luck.-AmyFrom: tracitalley <tracitalley@...>Plagiocephaly Sent: Wed, September 22, 2010 3:15:33 PMSubject: Looks flat again My son had a Hanger Helmet he wore it for 9 weeks, they released him, his head looked good that was the end of August. Now he looks like it is getting flat again, I thought it was just me but the therapist (tort. which is much better but she checks on him everyother week, which raises another questions.) anyway, she said it looked flat to her too and she thought they released him too early. Has this happened to anyone else? Next, he is 8 1/2 months old and not really rolling over or trying to crawl. He is sitting up well but can't get himself up in the sitting position. is this from the Tort., helmet or just because he is so laid back? Anyone else have delays? thanks, Traci
