Guest guest
Well, I had my appointment today and I've been able to drop my prednisone down to 17.5 for three weeks now. Yeah!!!!! She wants me to stay at that level for one more week, then alternate 17.5 with 15, every other day, for a month and then see if I can stay at 15 mgs. It was really a good appointment, because I've been confused about what is " ok pain " and what I should be worried about. It's really hard to know and I don't want to be a complainer, so she was very helpful. My shoulder has still been pretty bad, and if it's not better by next month when I see her, she said we'd look at " next steps " . Does anyone know what those might be? I'm scared it might be steroid injections into the joint. I'm really a big baby when it comes to things like that, even though I think I'll do ok giving myself the Enbrel injections, if I ever make it off the waiting list! Anyway, just wanted to check in. Hope everyone is doing ok.
Guest guest
Hi , I had a steroid injection in my left shoulder last Spring. I was scared to death about having it done because it was a first for me. I didn't even feel a thing when he did it. He numbed the area first and then shot in the cortisone. I was impressed. At the time he suggested having an MRI done and then possibly having rotator cuff surgery. After a month went by my shoulder was so much better that I didn't follow up with the MRI or the surgery. Now I need a shot in the right shoulder!! I've been told that sometimes it takes a series of three shots to really work good.
