Guest guest
Wow, what a great story. I am so glad things are working out for you. If you don't mind my asking, what were your dates of the surgery and how much did you weigh pre-op? I am just hoping that Dr Rutledge will accept me as a candidate or at least tell me to lose 20lbs and then take me. Especially after hearing all of these great stories, I am going to move full steam ahead. I have been researching this for about the last 8 months off and on and know that this is the answer for me. I have steadily gained 20 to 25lbs a year every year for the past 15 years. AND that is AFTER trying every diet known to mankind. Thanks again for your story and I will definitely be using you as a contact person. I will just need your name and date of your surgery. Have a great weekend. Guest guest
Gladys You know I may have to use the same rule as you. I just know everything will go down, I had to go to my husband's annual party for work tonight, and I had to eat something or burst around the room screaming!!!!!! I had a cup of potatoe basil soup, with I think 3 small potatoes in it, and broth, and I passed on the fried chicken, perch, salad, rolls... but when I seen dressing I knew I had met my match, I had about 1 T. of dressing and 1 T. of mashed potatoes, moved them around a lot on my plate, and finally ate them. I looked real busy eating like everyone else, and I don't think too many people noticed what I was doing. LOL I'll try to stay on liquids a little longer tho, it was just very (VERY) difficult tonight, and was no way of getting out of the party! Trudy Post Op one week Re: Day 21 Just back from 6 days in New York City with our oldest daughter who is in law school there. Trip was planned way before surgery or I would never have taken the days off work. Down 14 pounds and many inches - almost 2 in my neck alone. That's where people are starting to notice. I use the amount rule for food, not the type. It works for me. At 10 days I tried 2 TBs of whatever I wanted, now I'm up to half cup. Everything had worked except a blueberry muffin ( I think bread blobs up and all your small bites stick together to try to go down. How's that for a medical opinion. I feel great. While in New York, my daughter told her friend that I had just had surgery so watch out for me. The friend said that she could not believe how I was doing. Her aunt had some open WLS in NY before I did and is still eating baby food and not able to work. If you are interested in getting back to work ASAP or if you are a teacher or other educator, please use me as a contact. I am an assistant principla who had surgery on Friday and went back to school half day on MOnday. No one knows why I am losing weight. I tell them I have to get skinny before my daughter's wedding in June. For the first time in my life, I really believe this can happen!!! Guest guest
Well, I'm a School Social Worker. I can not afford to take time off of work and was really hoping to get everything in by the end of this next week and pray for a surgery date at Christmas time. I don't think that I'm being realistic though, and my heart is broke. I would love to have the surgery then and when I go back to work...no one would even have to know. We don't have our Spring Break until April and I don't want to have to wait until then. Can you tell me, do I have to make two trips to NC? I thought that if I had my clinic visit on say, Thursday, I could have my surgery on Friday and go back home Tuesday after my second clinic visit. I could leave home Wednesday night and be back home Tuesday night. My husband has that time off too, and I really want him to be the one to go with me. Anyways, when I read the list, it seems like I have to have clinic with Dr. Rutledge before I can have a surgery date. So, I couldn't have clinic one day and surgery the next? We really can't afford the trip, just praying God will make way some how, and I know we can't afford two trips. We are paying for my stepson to come home for both Thanksgiving and Christmas from Arizona. We are also paying for his tuition, room and board. You might say that we are officially " the working poor " Re: Day 21 >Just back from 6 days in New York City with our oldest daughter who is in law >school there. Guest guest
Hi. One trip to NC will do for out-of-state patients. Try to schedule clinic and surgery so that the latter is the day after the former. This is standard operating procedure for them. Plan to stay a week or so to attend the follow-up clinic, although it's possible, if all goes well, to skip the follow-up clinic and go to your PCP instead. Regards!
