Guest guest
Sounds good Trudy. I will be getting released on the 9th so we will definitely have to get together. Why don't you and Judy (and your family) join Debbie and I (and my hubby and her mom) for dinner on the 7th. Think a restaurant can handle us????? Guest guest
Girl. You can't type, and you can't spell, and yet you take my breath away! We have a dte, you know, dinner on the 2nd, right? When we drink water, nibble on a cracker, and stay awake all night with eager anticipation. Right Trude? And we have Sande and Ruqayya, and who else???? Life is good, Trude. Guest guest
Trude, we'll talk. I'm working on it girl. Gotta consider my friend, her life, her work, yada, yada, yada. We'll get there, my Trude. Think they'll put us in the same room together? Would that be a hoot? Lawdy, lawdy, lawdy. It boggles my mind! Guest guest
Listen Dear, if they put us in the same room, my hubbby would really be upset!! He is already so jealous of my relationship with all the ladies on this site. (but especially you!) Don't mean we can't run up in down the hall to each others room all night tho.. We'll feed him good and put him in front of a ball game on t.v. and 2 seconds flat, he'll be out like a light!! I am so excited, I could explode! KAAABOOOM..... now, that's ugly! T. Guest guest
Thanks Cathy. We are sooooo excited. WE are also a little over-talkative, one might say, and between Trude and I we answer about 80% of the emails, I swear! I've been watching this site daily for about 3 months. It's an interesting phenomena. First you watch, lurking quietly in the shadows. Then, you write a quick note to someone and see your name actually enter the site. Then someone says Welcome to you, and you discover you've found a home. Then, it becomes the best group of friends a person could have, and any absence greater than 3 hours makes you long to get back to the computer and see how your buddies are all doing. (It's right about here that you know what 'compulsive' means, and you know you've gone a little over the deep end!) And with you, right at about the same time, have also come a band of 10 or 12 other folks who are at basically the beginning phase, just as you are. Fast forward one month, and the shyness has gone completely. You're having conversations about every bodily function under the sun with the best friends you've never met, and are now awaiting insurance approval or a date to dance!!!! At the same time, the group of folks that were all on board when you first peeked in are now post-ops and sharing every detail, making you ever more comfortable with the decision you've made and the life-altering process upon which you've embarked. Fast forward one more month, and those who started together are now shouting across this land, from North to South and East to West, that they have a date, and who is their mate, and when we are great!!!!!!!!!!!! And it makes you cry. I see it as a horizontal escalator, constantly moving at a slow pace, allowing safe and easy access for anyone from anywhere. A few get off before it's final destination in Durham, usually due to circumstances beyond their control. The rest stay on, saying hi to those ahead and those behind, and smiling into the future. Welcome to all you newbies, keep all those going into surgery in your hearts, and reach out to the post-ops when you need to. We are a family united by cause. We are all here to improve our lives. To watch our children grow up; or see our first grand child; or regain our health; or whatever personal goals we may have. My heart is with each of us as we struggle along on this escalator path. It has been a pleasure for me on this journey to meet so many of you. I have laughed so hard I've ruined my chair (Trude, you owe me a cushion!), and cried equally as thoroughly at people's inspiring or sad stories. As I now approach Durham myself, I am amazed that my group is now at the front of the line, and I see newer folks coming on board for miles behind. And they are beginning to post their first tentative tries, and trying to find contacts for their packet, and they are taking over the resposibility of telling the truly new that THEY must contact the contacts (boy I got tired of writing that one!), and I see the bigger picture. Here's to all of YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks so much. PhillyJude MGB 11-3-00!!!!

Guest guest
, I put them in for about 45 min. when the doc got there the room was dark cuz we was watching a tape on the t.v. he looked right at me.. looked again,, turned around looked again... no smile, no laugh, nothing... (hee hee) Then he walked over and turned up the light in the room.. he looked AGAIN.. kinda stared right at me.. He was trying to go along with the important stuff that needed saying and I just kept grinning.. I was waiting for him to take a breath so I could explain the teeth.. Not a chance, finally he says, quite plainly " do you want to take them out now? " ooooh, ouch! hahahaha Oh, yes, I said I just heard you had a good sense of humor, and your girls (nursing staff etc.) wanted me to show you these..... Jude told him it was part of the Trude and Jude Show!!! He says " OH,, you're Trude and Jude??? " Then he laughed and gave us each a real big hug!! (whew, I was sweating it, ...lol) Trudy Trude & Jude show So glad to hear all of you back and safe and doing well, but really I'm just dying to hear how the show went -- did you turn the hospital upside down??
