Guest guest
I wonder the same thing but if it can help my child defeat ASD the I would not care if he needed it his entire life. I do not think a diet change can affect an indivdual as much as knowing you did not do the most for your child I am sure if your husband sees improvement he will be ok with it. > > Hello everyone, > > I've been doing my research on this diet and I'm thinking of trying it > for my son. Guest guest
It's really impossible for us to say " how long " , since each child is different. Elaine kept her daughter on SCD for seven years- probably a bit longer than necessary, but Dr. Haas had passed away without telling her how long she should keep it up. Her daughter is a healthy adult today. Since SCD literally saved her life, I'm sure Elaine didn't find it too difficult to continue that long. It will really depend on your son's overall response to the diet, how damaged his gut was in the first place and how long it takes him to heal. Some families are so pleased with the results they've seen that they would never choose to go entirely back to a Standard American Diet.... for fear that sugar and refined grain-based starches will just damage their child's hard-won good health. Patti, list moderator When can my son eat regular food Hello everyone, I've been doing my research on this diet and I'm thinking of trying it for my son. I want to know if anyone here has been able to get themselves or their children off the diet to eat regular foods without any problems? How long can it take..I've read six months to three years. Please help..my husband is so against this kinda of stuff and I need to know how long we may need to do it..Thanks
