I mean yea, I could have it > worse and im thankful I dont, but it is depressing. > > What more can i eat?? do i have to excersize a lot too? Hi, There are several options other than grilled chicken. Try clicking on this link and take a look at the diet tips that Fliss and I have put together, as well as the other folders in this section. Fortunately, today's marketplace features hundreds of food products that cater to the low fat diet. The most important thing you need to do when shopping is to read the nutritional label on the side of each product. You'll see that the product's fat content is conveniently located first in the breakdown. http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/pancreatitis/files/Nutrition/ You mention nausea and pain from eating. Have you been prescribed pancreatic enzymes? The right enzymes should solve those problems. If you aren't taking them, you need to discuss this with your gastroenterologist. If nausea still persists, you need to discuss a script for medication for nausea with your physician, too. You will also find it easier on your digestion if you eat several smaller mini- meals or snacks throughout the day, instead of two or three larger, heavier ones. Try not to have more than 6-8 grams of fat at each eating session, even less is better. We are advised to exercise with moderation, trying not to engage in any exercise that will bend, twist, turn or jostle the abdomen, or anything that could cause blunt trauma to the abdominal area. Walking is an excellent form of exercise for most of us, and many people enjoy biking. For obvious reasons, tennis, racketball and golf could be too strenuous, and most of us have had to retire our skateboards! I hope this helps and don't hesitate to post again with any questions. Guest guest
Yes that does help thank you. I do take enzymes. They are called lipriam also known as pancease. I dont eat a whole lot at meals so I take 1 with each meal or snack. I tried taking 2 but it made my stomach cramp up. I heard that sugar is something you need to watch also? How much sugar can people with CP have a day? i just got married and moved to California so I dont really know any doctors here as of right now but my My doctor back home told me I could get diabeties in about 3-5 years. What do you do about depression? You should see me...Im 19 years old (got this when I was 18). My friends all go fast food ya know? and it looks soooooo yummy and I get so upset cuz after they get there food they have to take me somewhere healthy so I dont get sick. any suggestions on that? I do eat subway and I do go to KFC but i peal off the skin and use a napkin to soak up the grease. Another thing...My mother in law told me that the birth control pill is not good for CP. Is that true? She said it aggravates it. Ive been on it way before I was diagnosed with CP so i cant really tell, but if its true I want to know about it. I never thought I would find people who have this on here!! Please keep writing. Thanks-Leah
Guest guest
I eat a lot of fish( I like salmon and trout the most or sushi) as I find that it has less fat then chicken or turkey. Also, when I'm feeling a little worse pancreas wise I move to soups that are low fat and that also helps. When it's real bad, I revert to baby food, cream of wheat or oatmeal. The baby food I eat is usually just the fruits and the cereals. I found I can't stand the protein or vegetable ones at all (I now know why all those babies spit it out. lol) If it's the worst, I go to the ER and stay off all food and have an IV. . -- Kimber Vallejo, CA hominid2@...
