Hello Everyone,

My name is Angel and I am new to " the Group " . I am 36 and have a BMI of 48.

I am married to a wonderful and supporting husband. I have been heavy all my

life and am very excited to be a part of this program. I have been watching

from a distance and occasionally asking a question here and there but I have

not taken the plunge and said Here I am.. so.... " Here I am " . From all that I

have read, it is easy to see how much enthusiasm and care is shown to each

other through this website and I am hoping to be apart of this big (but

getting smaller " hee " " hee " ) family.

My husband and I live in Winston-Salem, NC. and we have researched the other

WLS and I feel that MGB is the one for me. I am at peace with this decision

and I am looking forward to being able to live my life to it's fullest. We

raise horses and I have not been able to ride in over 2 years. That will be

one of the first things that I do when I get this weight off of me. I have

sent in my application and have my PCP appt for this Tuesday. I am starting

my contacts now and I am also working on my letter. If there is anyone out

there that would like to share their experience with me, I would love to

listen. The more I can learn, the better... I am also wondering about the

meetings, how do you find out when and where they are going to be? I would

love to attend a few.

Best wishes,

Angel

Angel,

Beings you're so close to Durham you really should go to a clinic meeting. They

are on Tues and Thurs each week at 1 p.m. Go to the clinic there will be a note

on the door telling you which way to go..

You'll love it, you'll meet pre-ops and post-ops and you will meet Dr. R. and

he'll explain anything you don't understand..

Good luck,

Trudy
