I'm going up there to have colon surgery. The GI up there who is

going to check out my small intestine is also conversant with

pancreatitis, so I've been told i'm in the best hands. Also the

surgeon who will be doing my surgery happens to be one of the best

in the country with knowledge about my Desmoid Tumours which are

extremely rare.

And I just found out a few weeks ago, that my surgeon back in

Adelaide, South Australia, who performed my first colon surgery in

1993 was trained for his specialty in Cleveland, So I was getting

the doc with the best credits back then and I didn't know it *L*

Your in great hands!!! My GI up there is Darwin L. Conwell (216-444-

6226 Midwest Multi-Center Pancreatic Study Group) He is

outstanding, he is the one who did the study on me that didn't work,

I had the surgery to no avail but at least he's trying something.

The surgeon that did my BIG surgury I can't recall right now, I'll

look it up ASAP.

The surgeon at CC that did my pancreas tail removal, spleen removal,

and gall bladder extraction was R. Walsh, M.D.

Phone:

He is great, even cut around my bellybutton and promised me it would

stay an inny,lol-it did, looks a bit funny, but my cut is a nice

straifght line about a foot in length, important stuff you know...

Only took me 2 weeks to get to go home, but I was a very strong 26

year old who poured concrete and ran a 90 pound jackhammer for fun.

CC must be a great place, never seen so many people from outside the

US, only negitive is the location, don't go walking around at nite

without a big dog with an attitude.

Thanks for the info, I shall update it soon for the board.

My scars..well I say I've got a cut for Tennessee *L*

then I had more surgery and I now look more like a patchwork quilt.

Doctors have gone through my belly button 3 times now, so it looks

like a button hole..*L*

Thanks for the tip about safety in Cleveland..I did wonder about

that and it was a question I was going to put to the woman who has

helped organize my stay up there.

I wonder if people named their pancreas and talked to it like they

do a car that breaks down all the time if it would make a difference

and not act up as much..I know i've threatened to take a couple of

my previous vehicles to the caryards for destruction if they didn't

work properly..seemed to work for a while *L*
