Guest guest
Zoiee, I was told by my insurance case manager that I would more than likely be classed as uninsurable due to my previous CP and now having had cancer. That is if I was to try for a private policy. My husband's work was shaky for a while and I stressed over this like you would believe. She did tell me however, that, if I went from a company paid plan to another company paid plan through my husband's employers, they wouldn't ask any questions and I would get automatic coverage. She also told me that if I had to try for private insurance policies out of our own pocket, not to lie about anything because the insurance companies will do a very thorough enquiry, calling hospitals and doctors around the areas to see if I have been a patient there, and any funds they have paid out, I would be made to pay it all back, plus penalties for giving false information. Which I have no intention of doing... She did say that Cobra would be to my advantage if worst situation with the husbands' work happened. Else I would have to apply for the state health insurance fund, but unfortunately, that is going down the gurgler in this state. So far he's kept his job, so I'm safe for the time being. Guest guest
Here in washington I went from the cobra to paying for my own. I don't remember any questions regarding my health only my age and whether I smoked, which I don't. This was 2 years ago. I am on long term disability and pay for my own insurance.
