Guest guest
Welcome . Congratulations on your successful weight loss. The red eyes sounds like it may be allergies or sinusitis. I know that when I am running the heater, it tends to irritate my eyes and I get a little stuffy. It doesn't necessarily feel like a cold and I don't always " feel sick " . However, if you are feeling tired, this could be a sign of " becoming sick. " I don't know about Florida, but Texas is notorious for giving people allergies. I know a woman from another group who is 5'9 " & at 155-160 she looks amazing & tiny. You must be super thin at your height & weight-yeah!!! I bet you look & feel wonderful. Guest guest
You would refer to her as " that thin woman over there " if you saw her. I would add the one whose legs end just over the top of my head somewhere. lol Thanks, Vitalady, Inc. Guest guest
Welcome Gloria, Congratulations on your weight loss and for taking such good care of yourself w/counseling, etc. Thank you for such a warm intro and since you mentioned it, how do you fix your tofu and what kind of bread is it you've found. I would love to learn to " do " tofu. Welcome to the group. I am sure you will have a lot to add. Guest guest
Gloria!! I'm so glad you've finally joined the grads list! Your incredible success, your warm and friendly personality, and your vegetarian ways will be great additions to this group. Gang, Gloria was very active in EMOSS (our local support group) for a while and still is a part of the online group. She's been great inspiration to the newbies in our group, and to me personally. :-) Z Open RNY 09/17/01 http://www.ziobro.us Introduction Hi Everyone, I have been lurking for just a couple of days and decided to introduce myself. I had a medial RNY Dec. 17, 2001. (funny how our dates are etched in our minds) I reached goal on 11/02 and have stayed at 133 lbs. I was 136 and lost 3 with the plastic surgery, let me tell you that was the best 3 lbs I lost! I love the weight that I am and I love the person I found buried under my pounds. These two years have taught me and everyone else who knows me so much about Gloria. I have been doing individual counseling from before the surgery and up through today. I also go to an eating disorders support group run by a trained professional. These two tools have been a life saver. I learned that you can make your " monsters " skinnier but you can't make them disappear. Every day I have to be aware and tame them. Some days I can tame them and some days, well... Thank you everyone for being so honest about your lives. Hearing others' struggles makes issues seem less shameful. I hope that when I share it will help others like you have helped me. I am a vegetarian and have a couple of good protein suggestions. Tofu goes down good and keeps the pouch full nicely, gluten does equally well for me, and I have found a bread that has 5 carbs and 15 grams of protein per slice. I love to have the bread in the morning it makes me feel full and like I am eating a " regular " breakfast. Guest guest
Tofu....me too. I have never even tried it..I don't know anything about it and need a tofu 101 course. I learned to eat food that wasn't fried, have learned to pass up the loaded baked potato, who knows I may even like it...... PS can it be made into a " Reeces Peanut Butter Cup " ? At first, I didn't want to go away from my normal " everything goes " diet, but now I feel that this may be good for me.
