Guest guest
, I read in the ad for Straterra that it should not be used by anyone who is using Proventil or Albuteral. A teacher at the school told me there was a boy in my son's class that tried it, who uses Proventil for asthma. They were not aware of the contraindications. He was having serious heart issues because of the mix, so it was stopped. I think you should check that out. Marcia had his evaluation for OT (Ocupational Therapy) and issues Hi all, We just got back from Arnold palmer rehab center, was being evaluated for fine motor development delay. The results were not a delay but several other issues including strength and endurance. The great thing about this place is that they will work with one on one to help his endurance and strengthen his muscles in his hand and wrist. There were a few other things they will be working on such as holding a pencil, he can hold it the correct way for a few seconds but then he loses it. I am waiting for Shelley to call me back and let me know the final results. Depending on the score he gets, we could be going there between 1 to 3 times a week. I am very happy that I pushed for this evaluation, I knew was struggling and I felt that something needed to be done. I am happy that is going to get the therapy. I am very proud of myself, I know that sounds lame but I am, I do my best to make sure both of my children have every opportunity to excel happily and healthy in life. As to continue my on going quest =) we are waiting on speech, the school has set up an evaluation, but it is taking quite sometime to get it moving. I have called and left a message for the IEP coordinator so we can discuss 's plans for the rest of this year and next year. I do not like to procrastinate, I want to know what actions are taking place to aid my child in school. Unfortunately, 's teacher feels that should repeat kindergarten. He isn't where he should be and she feels that would struggle in first grade, I can say I agree and disagree, has many issues going on right now and its very hard on him. To start, is on a round of antibiotics, the tobi and cipro to help get rid of the pseudomonas. second, he is on two different puffers, one is albuteral and the other is flovent to help with the asthma symptoms, and to top it off this isn't even the regular treatments he does. He is seeing a neurologist for the rare eye disorder, actually next month he going down for an EEG. I am hoping we can figure out what's going on. He is having tummy issues, two days this week I have picked him up from school because his tummy hurts, he is exhausted. I have called his G. I doctor and they advised me that he will have tummy problems and diarrhea because of the antibiotics and there isn't much we can do except go buy the good bacteria. I am going to publix tonight to get some, I am hoping this helps a little. I do have good news about 's adhd, we found a medicine that works, its a long story but we decided to go ahead again with it, its called straterra and the best thing about it is that it is a non stimulant drug. has a lot more focus and his behavior is so much better. With the medicine and the behavior modification, we are doing great!!!! Like I said has a lot on his little plate, but you know he is a super trooper, I am so very proud of him.I am going to call my family and see if they can put together little care packages for him. It will help him feel better and me too when I see him smile =). Well, that was my little update, I will keep you all posted. , mommy of 5 years old w/cf/adhd/ eye disorder/ocupational therapy/speech etc.and 2 years old no CF but going to the doctor next week for his leg/foot problem
