Guest guest
Hi deedee,My daughter had a whipple when she was 16.It seemed to help for a while. She worked, finished school(night school) and ate pretty normally. Now she's 21 and is having some pain, nutrition and diabetes issues. Her cp is genetic, however so may make a difference in progression .She feels it was worth it,and so do I.Good luck and god bless. anne
Guest guest
I had a " Modified Whipple " in 1986, a rough operation and a long recovery. Mine was for a cancerous tumor in the small intestine and had nothing to do with chronic pancreatitis at that time. One of the things done was to shorten the main bile duct from the norman 5 inches to about one inch. It was 13 years later after full recovery that I developed chronic Panc. Best wishes, i think they do a " Whipple " beter now than thay did 198 years ago Poncho - GA
