The Joy of Eating Gone????

Just wanted to relay a little story. I am one month postop today and have

heard lots of people say they feel the joy of eating is gone. As most of you

know I have progressed to eating " normally " quite rapidly and am quite happy

with that fact - I felt it was important for me to get on with my life as

quickly as possible. I think I may be over my first plateau because

according to my scales I am down maybe 5 pounds this week - yea!

I had two social events to attend this weekend - the first being the

rehearsal dinner for one of my best friend's wedding (coincided with my 16th

wedding anniversary and the bride and groom are named the same thing as my

husband and myself!) Dinner was at an italian restaurant that we had never

been to - it was absolutely wonderful! Started with bread and garlic and

olive oil, then fried zucchini and fried mozerella cheese, two kinds of

salad, two kinds of pasta, three chicken dishes and plates full of dessert -

all served over the course of 1-1/2 to 2 hours. I guess because of the time

involved I was able to sample some of everything, was wonderfully satisfied

but not stuffed at the end of the meal and quite pleased with the way my

evening went as it related to food. I didn't feel like I missed out on a

thing! Today was the wedding with a luncheon to follow. I had a small

amount of everything including 1/2 of a sliver of the most wonderful

cheesecake. Once again, I am satisfied but not stuffed and quite pleased

with the way the MGB seems to be fitting into my life. I truly feel that

food no longer has control over me and I can't wait to see what the next

months hold - I'm no longer afraid of Thanksgiving or Christmas now!

Hope everyone has a great rest of the weekend - I'll let you know if my

plateau is truly over when I weigh in Tuesday night at WW!
