Guest guest
TO anyone who may be interested: I have been lurking and occasionally posting to this group for several months now. I was sure I wanted Dr.R. to do surgery on me, but I have certainly changed my mind. I also feel that several people on this group try to control the entire conversation. Flo, your response to was ablsolutely astounding. You condemn LT and then condemn for voicing concerns. I personally find this e-group disgusting and am going to discontinue it after I speak my mind. Dr. R.'s packet requiremensts are ridiculous. What does it matter if we use absolutely correct english, complete sentences, etc? What does it matter if our patient letter is 5 pages long, 10 pages long or a book? It is supposed to show we are making an informed decision. Whether headings are correctly placed on the pages doesn't tell him that, either. The on-line test is another joke. He thinks the letters are looking too much alike, like we are " cheating " and copying each other's work. Yea, right. I am not working toward a disertation in MGB. I just want a competant surgeon to help me solve my problem. All these hoops he wants us to jump through must fuel his ego somehow. The last thing I want to comment on is the lack of other doctors doing the MGB. I heard through this e-group about a couple of other doctors who are now doing the surgery. I e-mailed Dr. R. and asked for information. He replied that he " heard there was a Dr. O' in the dakotas " doing the surgery, nothing else. I searched the internet and found him in Sioux Falls, S.D. Guess what, when I called for an appointment I was told that Dr. O' trained with Dr. R. Now, do I really believe that Dr. R. could not give me any information? Another ego trip, or just trying to protect his turf? Anyway, a person cannot give an opinion or ask a question on this e- group without being persecuted if it veers off of the " accepted " opinion. was severely chastized for daring to voice a concern. This is not my idea of an open and informatinve group. Have fun patting each other on the back and kissing a**. Jan
