It's my body, my life (God's actually), and I really want to know ALL that I

can- the good, bad and the ugly as they say. >>

Yvonne......

I don't think you'd get crucified here....you need to do all the research you

can.....and do what's best for you. I felt that I researched this surgery

well. My husband is a Dr....he researched it. We talked to lots of GI

Drs....showed them the patient manual or asked them to look at the website.

My husband really doesn't want me dead, due to the fact that we have 6!!

children! :)

I haven't had too many complications....I need potassium about 2 weeks after

my surgery...I really couldn't drink gatoraide like some people can....just

makes me ill. I had to take suppliments for about 2-3 weeks....

When I did start to eat...I thought I had chewed well enough, but didn't..so

occassionally threw up..esp if I ate rice. I have a hard time burping, so

sometimes some air gets stuck....and that means I need to try and burp. I

have had the dumping problem, ONLY in the morning...never minutes after I

eat, never 1-2 hours later. I always go in the morning..sometimes I don't at

all. It doesn't matter what I eat, sugar or fat...I don't dump....go figure!

I thought everyone did!!

I have lost about 80 lbs at 6 months....I feel absolutely great. I haven't

had any reflux ...but took some meds when I traveled to Romania recently to

adopt our new daughter....due to the food and water there. I had no problems

whatsoever traveling with this surgery. I thought for sure I would.

Also, every time I have e-mailed Dr R.....I have gotten a response.

Sometimes fasted than I can get ahold of my dh!!

My 6 month bloodwork can back with me being healthier, and needing to lower

my synthroid....

Since all of these articles have come to light, I have shown them to Dr

friends and no one seems concerned....if I feel like I need an endoscopy in 6

months , I'll have one. I've had one before..and was home in 30 minutes

cooking dinner...it wasn't hard.

IF I were to have a problem, I would post it to this list...and to post

op...I hope others would too. I know I'm still a newby as far as the surgery,

but I'll be happy to keep everyone posted...if anything changes....but so far

, no reflux at all.

Let me know if you have any questions....

Take care!

D
