I went to my ENT with severe dizzy spells last year when I was loosing my balance and falling off of chairs etc. He said there are crystals in your ear & they sometimes become lodged in your ear canal & cause dizzy spells. He did a painless procedure where he had me lay on the table with my head off the table with him supporting it. I was to tell him when I was dizzy. Then he turned my head to the left and held it there & to the right. He then had me turn on my right side & I thought I was going to pass out because the dizziness was so horrible. Then he had me sit up & again I had major dizziness. I then had to sleep in the recliner for 2-3 nights & then elevated on pillows for a few nights and not on the affected side which was the left. My dizziness disappeared after that but came back & had to go through this again. Hope this sheds a little light for those of you suffering from dizzy spells.
