Guest guest
Hi I better add some info here about the support person problem. Unfortunately mom has to be in the equation. I did have a talk with her today (there was a slight guilt trip that came along with this conversation but it was to be exprected....lol ) I told her she cannot cry, go into hysterics, get emotional or anything when in my presence. She didn't like this but.... I told her she can excuse herself if she feels a fit coming on and go sob in the waiting room or something. I don't need stress and guilt on a ventilator. She of course said that she doesn't know where she went wrong and why am I so emotionally detached and yada yada yada.....LOL....that was just moms way of getting attention but I wasn't biting so she couldn't lure me into the " Im sorry " thing. Unfortunately, I have knowone else on my side of the family that can help. My brother is in England, my 20 yo brother smokes 2 packs a day and doesn't deal well with stress, and my other brother is stationed in England and just says Im lazy and all I need to do to cure myself is exercise( he was always kida stupid in the common sense dept. ). We all joke its b/c he's 6 foot 5 and the air in thin up there...LOL My sister just had a baby and both her and her hubby are in the Marine Corps. She take 8-12 weeks off and I cannot be around any babies and my sister has a newborn. SO thats out. She will help though for a week. Her hubby will have for that week. Brads family all works so they need a months notice to take off of work. They will be helping but not right away. I have set mom up so that Brad will be there and then she won't need to come back until week 9...I should be much better by then...hopefully. I tried and tried to figure out a way to not get mom into the caregiver plan but there was no other way. Anyways....the funny thing was during the support group today at rehab this came up and several had the same issues. One poor guy had his wife choked up...HE didn't mean to but I guess the dam just broke....LOL He just said that when he was gritting his teeth in pain and didn't cry and there she was balling it totally irritated him (he's 3 weeks out of a double lung TX ).
