Guest guest
Hi, We are planning to start the diet tomorrow and I have three quick questions: 1. Why is ambrotose illegal? 2. Do we all (adults & kids) need to take probiotics? 3. My daughters probiotics are to be taken at bed time? Why? I cannot get them into her at bedtime, is any time better than no time at all? Guest guest
Yes, everyone who is SCD in your family should take probiotics. Any time is better than no time. Please make sure that you are using an SCD legal brand of probiotic. Meleah ambrotose & probiotics Hi, We are planning to start the diet tomorrow and I have three quick questions: 1. Guest guest
I know I'm responding to this very LATE... sorry. Ambrotose is illegal because it's derived from aloe vera.... as far as I know, especially because of the processed form it's in, it is one of those illegal polysaccharides. I'm sorry I don't know any further details than that. I just know that when Elaine was still with us, she looked at it, declared it completely illegal for SCD and advise us to stay away from it. I know it's one of those supplements that many of the DAN doctors think is wonderful. Too bad it's just not compatible with SCD. Yes, everyone on SCD should be taking probiotics .... supplemental acidophilus and (if possible) SCD yogurt. I have heard that taking probiotics right at bedtime is a good idea, because the good flora have all night to sort of get down there and work their magic. It's not a requirement on SCD that you give them at bedtime. I have to give my daughter's mixed with applesauce.... and I try to give them in between meals, or about an hour before. Guest Gregg
Ambrotose is not illegal, thats silly. The company that makes it (Mannatech) has dozens of patents on Ambrotose worldwide. The US Patent Office has to know how it works and why before granting patents for it. The company itself is a publicly traded (debt free) company traded on Nasdaq. Ambrotose is the best thing they could be taking and there is absolutely nothing about it that is illegal.
