I understand how this works - except one thing...

I know you also have Aetna. Do they negotiate the

charge like they do everything else? I have to pay

10% - is that 10% of the total cost or the negotiated

cost? I was in the hospital a year ago. The total

charge was $14,000. They (Aetna) negotiated it down

to $5500 and I owed 10% of that amount.

I sure hope they negotiate......

Margaret: I too have Aetna and if the Hospital and Dr.,are on their

provider list They pay the negotiated price and that is all they can

charge you. 10 of the negotiated price. Dr. Rutledge is in network.
