Guest guest
How long will 120 quarts of yogurt last for someone new to the diet? I have decided to go with the GI pro health & I want to order enough to get us thru September due to the heat where I live. How much yogurt/person might be consumed? I know you start at 1/8 tsp, but I see posts of people who eat a bowl or more/day. - Patti wrote: I used to be able to find Yogourmet starter on the shelf at Wild Oats, but they stopped carrying it. Now I order from Lucy's... and I ordered a full case of 12 boxes, in order to get the best price. Yogourmet starter does say to keep it in the fridge, although it isn't shipped on ice.... though I ordered in early spring and I'm in the same state (Washington) as Lucy, so it wasn't a concern. Some people like to use the GI Pro Health starter, if they are trying to stay away from even the slightest trace of cow dairy.... I have not ever used anything but Yogourmet. I'm not sure if they ship the GI Pro with ice packs or not. I don't *think* it's available in stores... strictly online. Seems to me that one is either kept in the fridge or the freezer for storage. Patti Re: yogurt maker Thank you Patti -- Last question here for a while... I live in a very hot part of the country -- is the starter some thing I need to order in bulk now so that I don't have to have it shipped after it gets hot (by April it will be hot)or are legal starters generally available at retail? If I need to order a bunch I should just do it now when I order the yogurt maker so it would be helpful to know.
