Guest guest
Hi everyone, I just called Chrissy's husband to see how her surgery is going. They have taken the pancreas out and are beginning to do whatever it is they do next. They are calling her husband every hour with an update. She went into surgery around 8am and they expect to finish around 5pm or so. I spoke with her last night and she had a good chat with the doctor who will be transplanting the islet cells. He claims that he tries to get them all transplanted within an hour of the pancreas being removed because they don't survive very long outside the body, and he apparently has one of the highest islet cells transplanted rate, which if she has enough of them bodes well for her against diabetes. As is typical of , she said he is quite cute *L* Don't let her know that I told you guys that she fell asleep (open mouthed and that light snoring noise) during her glucose test yesterday morning *L*..she said she was just so tired that she couldn't stay awake. I think that was during her diabetes learning class. Anyway, I'll keep you guys informed as to how she fairs after her surgery tonight.
