I have since googled biofilm and found some things about it, but not much about it, say, in the bowel. I do see that the biofilm community has some bacteria which produce polysaccharides. That is what we are trying to remove from of our kids' diets, and starve the bacteria needing it. However, the biofilm produces it anyway. has very thick mucus in his mouth. One improvement of SCD for him has been a decrease in his need to chew on everything and his drooling. However, I notice his saliva is still very slimy, which makes me now think about biofilm. So, does anyone know any research on this re SCD? How about treating with medicines? is not making much progress. We are still at intro level. I recently stopped all his supps, but that really didn't make much difference. He is screaming and whining and looks unhappy and sad all the time. We seemed to be making progress, but now we seem to be back to point A. I am considering antifungals, or something similar. Of course, if we are dealing with biofilm, how do we conquer them? One thing I have seen is that they are very resistant to drugs. , mom to , age 18 yo, ASD and SCD since 9/06 --------------------------------- Ahhh...imagining that irresistible " new car " smell?
