my son refuses to eat his food if i put in codliver oil plus he came

up allergic to codfish so i prefer to not use it at all. is flaxseed

oil or powder scd legal? is that a good substitute for codliver oil?

is the scd legal flaxseed oil or powder and the scd legal folinic acid

available at a local healthfood store?

also, how do you know when the gutt is ready to go to the next stage?

how do you know when it is completely healed?

Flax oil is legal.... ground flax SEED is not legal. No, it really is not a

good substitute for CLO. Flax oil is given for the Omegas.... CLO is mainly

given for the vitamins A & D.

You can give legal folinic acid.... but it is not a subsitute for CLO either,

if I'm understanding your question right.

It is hard for any of us to say when your child's gut will be " completely

healed " . I would expect it to take staying on the diet for a full year past

when you see the last of the symptoms disappear (which is what Elaine Gottschall

outlined in BTVC).... whatever symptoms you started the diet for. Or, maybe

one year beyond when the child stopped making further forward progress. I don't

know if you can ever REALLY know whether the gut has completely healed. Many

people choose to remain on SCD for the most part... indefinitely... as long as

they're doing well.
