Guest guest
Joan, Welcome. Keep your eyes right here, keep reading these posts, and you'll learn all you need to know. Of course, I am assuming that you have downloaded the patient manual and have read that, so that you are an educated consumer, right? Once you've read the manual, and know what the MGB is and what it does, then you are ready to reach out to 10 or more folks to begin your own process, should that be the decision you come to. I had the MGB last week, so I feel too new to be much help. But so far,so good. I will begin to be a contact after a month. I think that's only fair. I don't really know too much yet, haven't even been able to start eating food yet. This is the greatest bunch of folks ever, though. All questions will be answered! Take care and good luck on your journey, PhillyJude

It WILL start to make sense to you. Read Dr. Rutledges requirements for the surgery. You will have to complete a packet of information. It will be VERY time consuming. You will find the list of the things that have to have in the package on his web site. First thing to do: PRINT THE MANUAL I got myself 2 notebooks. One small one for the manual. One larger one for everything else. In the larger one I got divider tabs. I have the following subjects. Insurance My PCP's name Contacts Misc. Emails Patient Letter I will be mailing my packet next week and hope to be approved shortly. A professor of mine use to always say " RTDT " which means " Read The Damn Thing " ... it is so true. :-) I always remembered that when written instructions confuse me, I just keep reading and reading until they make sense. Good luck with you journey, Joni in Seattle ps. if you get any email from : lindat@... delete it before reading it...she is a kook!
