sphincterotomies???

Hi all, I just wanted to throw a question out there and get some

feedback and/or advise. I have already had 2 sphincterotomies in

the past 1 1/2 years. I am experiencing very painful SOD attacks

again, along with my usual sharp left sided pain from the pancreas.

I have been going along fine with taking 50mg of demerol twice a

day. That dosage had been keeping me pretty much on a " normal "

level. Meaning I could function pretty close to normal on a daily

basis. Now that the SOD has returned with a vengence, my left-sided

pain is bothering me all day long. The past few days I have had to

take the demerol 3-4 times a day to keep me mostly out of pain. I

am already thinking that I need to see Dr. Lehman (my gastro.

specialist) and discuss this with him too. Is there a certain

amount of times that one can have their Sphincter cut?? I am

wondering if the sphincter has scarred closed. I have been telling

my hubby and my mother for the past few weeks I could feel the

pressure building up in my pancreas. Then whammo I had a bad SOD

attack at 4am the other day, and it seems to have kicked my pancreas

pain into full gear. I am hoping that I can wait till March to see

Dr. Lehman so I can discuss this with him in detail. If the

sphincter has already been cut to its max, then what?? Is there any

other procedure to consider or do I just have to live with this

along with the CP??!! Thanks in advance for any/and all comments.
